The first time I heard of the updated cover of Elton John's classic, "Sorry seems to be the hardest word" from Vietnamese Artists, Lam Nhat Tien and Khanh Ha, I absolutely loved it. I knew I just had to do something with it as the melody and lyrics reminded me a lot of Ami's struggle in PGSM to become the friend that she thought would be best for Usagi. Unknowingly to Usagi, she was able to unlock emotions that Ami never felt before by becoming her best friend.
My main focus of this video was to try to show the insecurities that Ami was facing and how they managed to consume her mind completely. Ami made some bad choices and of course, Usagi wasn't perfect either, but their friendship managed to emerge stronger through their tough trials. By using the chosen song, it added a great theme of "sorry" for Ami’s actions. "Sorry" can be one of the hardest things to say and express to someone for when you really feel you've caused a lot of pain.
I personally love this video and I'm proud of what I've managed to accomplish. I hope that you will end up loving it just as much too. ArcticKnight
I happen to be one of the folks that think the love triangle between Usagi, Mamoru, and Hina was something that was well thought up by the PGSM writers. After watching Ninkyou's original concept for a video of how Usagi was affected by Mamoru's pairing with Hina, I decided that I wanted to take things further with what was done.
In my version, you should forget about what you already know through PGSM about the relationships. I tried to create my own telling of the story here and it basically plays on this idea: How affected would Usagi be if she has to come to realize that Mamoru has moved on with Hina?
The video starts off showing Usagi's current state and then you'll experience the events that lead her up to that point.
My main concentration on this video was to capture Usagi's feelings. I'm hoping that those who have been in Usagi's situation can accurately relate to what's shown. Love can bring so many emotions can't it? Unfortunately, at times, we are in for more than what we bargained for. ArcticKnight
This video does not contain footage from PGSM. It's all about Sawai Miyuu, the live action actress of Sailor Moon. Initially I had no plans of creating PGSM music videos but my experimentation with video software spawned this video and future productions. It gave me an outlet to show my creativity. This video showcases Miyuu's personality and how surprisingly enough is very similar to her character, Usagi. I've become quite fond of Miyuu as an actress and as a person throughout PGSM's run. I hope I did her justice with this video and maybe you just might be intrigued by her contagious smile. ArcticKnight
In every incarnation of the Sailor Moon story, Usagi and Mamoru's relationship has never been "picture perfect." While I'm not a huge enthusiast of their relationship, through it all, they've always managed to find a way back to each other and that alone, touches me.
Usually, I'm more interested in creating dramatic videos than those that are uplifting. It just so happened that one evening, I ended up giving myself a challenge after re-watching the “Final Act” and “Special Act” of PGSM, back to back. I questioned myself if I could create a video that could look past all of Usagi and Mamoru's troubled times with each other and just focused on the strong points of their relationship. I knew of a particular song by Asian artist, Sharyn Maceren, that could work for this concept.
You won't find any drama here, just sweet, simple, bliss. This all is a celebration of their love. Destiny continues to play its mysterious role by allowing them to fall in love all over again with each other no matter how many times reborn. ArcticKnight
This video was definitely a milestone for me in terms of creating a video with more depth. I had an itch to develop a dramatic music video for quite some time. There were already specific scenes of PGSM that I had in mind and the right song but never did I imagine that it would take me so long to create it. Problem after problem kept arising for the video sequence and there were issues obtaining the CD of Jessa. Needless to say, there were times when I wanted to seriously give up and I actually did at one point. However, through the release of the Miyuu tribute, I received encouraging comments and the demand for another video which were enough for me to finish what I've started. I hope all viewers get something out of watching this video. It is indeed special. ArcticKnight
