About Me- I am engaged, and the mother of two very beautiful, bright, and wonderful heathen (not by religion but just because they're ornery)children. I am attending college for my A.A.S to become a Paralegal. I love law and helping people so I'm positive that this is the right career for me. I am even at 26, a teen mom. Am I proud of this? Very much so. I'm not proud that I got pregnant at 15 but I am VERY proud of the job I have done in the last 10 years. I am a poet, a writer, a momma, a fighter, a friend, a lover, a cowgirl, a rebel, a peacemaker, a little girl, a country girl, a redneck, a sophisticated woman, a mentor, a sister, a daughter, an Amazon, and so much more. I have been many things in my life and down many roads. I wouldn't change any of it for anything. Like Garth says "I could have missed the pain but I'd have had to miss the dance.." and this is one dance I'm not done dancing yet. What I Write About- Mostly I write about life. Mine and people's whom I can relate to. I write poetry and so far articles on teen pregnancy, parenthood (both teen and single), and absent fathers. About Writing- I have learned to not "try" to write anything. Writing is something you feel with your heart and soul. As I wrote in "Free To Be Me"..."I write because I know that I'm not the only one that can feel this way. I write because it takes all those things that I'm feeling inside and gives them new life. I write because it heals me and hopefully heals others too. If I can get you to shed a tear, or smile, or remember someone that made you feel then I have lived and grown in a new way.A DEEPER WAY. All of our writing comes from the heart but it's how we express ourselves that allows us to capture your's." I don't think I can add much to that.
