Budding author. That's what I put here when I first joined ProseNPoetry. Based on the way I use other contributors' profiles I've decided to add the kinds of information I have found useful. I am a heterosexual male who was married for about 15 years and have been single now for about 15 years. I was born February 28, 1947. That makes me a Pisces which in turn may explain why I studied first Mathematics, then Computing Science, then Theology (for 3 years each) while I was in university. It means I was 59 when I joined. If I last more than a year on this site people can do their own arithmetic. My birth stone is amethyst which I like. Only God and possibly a hospital lab or two know what my blood group is so I'm sorry but Japanese readers won't be able to quickly characterize me. My reading tends to be catholic (emphasis on the small 'c') and cyclical but usually includes science fiction, mysteries and the sciences. I wish I had read more history; maybe I can catch up. At various levels of schooling I have studied French, Latin, Russian and koine Greek and since then have had minute exposure to Icelandic and Japanese (and I do mean minute). I was fluent in French about 40 years ago but not now. However, every new language I studied taught me things about English and I still remember bits of vocabulary and grammar from all of them. I was born and raised in Canada but have had the good fortune to live in various parts of the country including Toronto. Despite fond dreams of travel, the only other country I've visited is the U.S.A. My only time off the continent was mid-August to mid-September, 2001 when I stayed with a friend in Hawaii. Two major events during that period: the Maui Writers Workshop where I served as a volunteer and the destruction of the twin towers in New York which treatened to delay my return home. I have experienced broken bones, post-operative infection and clinical depression but am not suffering from any of them at the moment. (Hurrah!) I look forward to critiquing and being critiqued in hopes of learning more and improving my writing. I am an intermittant Moonatic and it was by pursuing a web search of Sailor Moon that I found this site. If you want or need to know more just ask.
