Joseph B. ______-First Little Missionary
(March 1, 1960 - May 27, 1960
Baby son of Dave and Joanne _____)
(So short a while) we held him near,
One springtime that was all.
A few brief moments, sweet and dear
And then he got his call.
(Just long enough) to give to earth
A glimpse of heaven above
As baby smiles promoted mirth
And filled our hearts with love.
(Just long enough) for brothers’ charms
To make him want to play
Just time to warm his mother’s arms
And look his Father’s way.
(So short a while) but oh how sweet
The memories that will stay
So hard to understand their need
For him could be so great,
His mission such an urgent deed,
There was not time to wait?
(So hard for us) to look upon
The plan God has for man
To wait that perfect, peaceful dawn
When Springtime comes again.
(When saddened hearts) will sing anew
And tear dimmed eyes will see
That bonds of love hold fast and true
Through all eternity,
Then we will know the wonderment
of God’s Infinity!
