I lie awake at night day dreaming
About everything as my mind shifts.
It seems that on most nights I take
At least one hour of thinking
About nothing.
Tonight my thoughts continued to roam
In the whirlwind of my imagination.
I am tired but content to stay up
To enjoy the security the images of my thoughts
Bring to me.
I see a future for myself where
I have a wonderful husband
To whom I love dearly and am loved by
We share two children
Where one looks like him
The other the spitting image of me.
I am a successful writer.
Although my writing may be demanding
I always find time for my family.
I nurse my family's
Bruises and pick them up when
They are down,
I make treats for them
When we play games or watch a movie.
Most of all I love them
No matter what.
