My sad little attempt at this challenge...

There are phrases we use each day,
that help us pass our lessons away.
We think of the price and what we bought,
and realize there's a lesson to be taught.
Why sell your soul only to wind,
up with the simple rhyme you find.

There's more than one way to skin a cat,
For the farmer it was to late when that,
lesson appeared before his eyes,
that poor cat was in for a surprise.

There's no use crying over spilt milk,
escpecially when it falls on silk.
Because that silk will forever smell sour,
no matter how many tears you shower.

Don't count your chickens before they hatch,
always prepare another batch,
because something can always go wrong,
and your dreams were just dreams all along.

These lessons were learned with a high price,
so at least take their words of advice.
You never know when it'll happen to you,
and a rhyme will come to your mind too.
