Romulus, son of Mars and Rhea,
Grandson of Numitor, King of Alba,
Twin brother of Remus,
Founder of Rome and first King,
Built upon Mount Palatine this wonder.
The gods favored him fully,
By triumphs of arms and terror of their name,
The Romans rose
As did the city Roma
To grace the civilized world in
Law and culture, art and literature
During succession of ages
Rose to heights of universal empire.
Rome, Mistress of the World!
Romulus, ranked among the gods
Receiving thus, divine humors
Under the name Quirinus.
Dominion of all the world.
The sands of Egypt did not deter you.
To the river Elb a conquest made,
From the Tigris and Euphrates you held sway.
Then the Bosphorous and Black Sea
Mare Nostrum turned the inland sea
From the Danube to the Pillars of Hercules
All belongs to you
All yours, Divine Rome
The isle of Britannia held under your yoke,
Mars received the most unbounded honors
For here Rome's foot fell upon the neck of her enemies.
Drink then from the Tiber
And by the ancient Mare Tyrrhenum
Ruled in splendor and glory.
Rome ageless, Rome eternal.
