Better Days
by Riley M. (Age: 16)
copyright 06-27-2003

Age Rating: 1 to 127

**Dedicated to my mom, don't worry, things will get better**

Once again, here I sit,
Running wearied fingers through my hair,

What to do...

What to think...

Where to go...

When to stop...

Mindlessly daydreaming,
Of better days,
When life was good,
And the bank was full,
Yet here I sit,
In a family of nine,
Trying to hold back the tears,
Praying for that angel,
They call 'miracle',
To swoop down...
Pick us up...
And bring us to better days.

'Always smile...people will wonder what you are up to.' This poem reminded me of that saying. Did you know that the best way to deal with someone who you were rejected by (as in, say, a bank loan, or a friend who won't lend you her textbook or something), is to just give them your biggest, brightest smile long enough for them to feel unconfortable. Then make a perfectly polite response while keeping that smile on. ^.^
This was a good poem, and I really liked it!

Reach for your goals and don't ever give up! Life will get better. Your angel will guide your way. I only wish that you didn't have to worry about things like this.
