ya, we all knew that day.
by Jenny Stein (Age: 21)
copyright 09-30-2003

Age Rating: 10 to 127

I just need to catch my breath. It seems to be running away from me. I should’ve grown suspicious when it asked for running shoes. I should’ve never shared it with you.
But its cool, ill live.
I just have grown a bit more dependent on you. don’t you know that’s why I steal kisses from you so often? Somewhat of a compensation for scaring away the oxygen around my head. I kind of needed that halo, that bubble, but now have formed a different one.
You are my breath.
You are my voice. Ya, I hate to lay the blame in thick brick layers on your fragile back ( ohh I love how fragile you are) but you’ve scared that away as well. When I try to say hello it rose to the heavens and now it drifts with the clouds and sometimes I hear my laughing from above. Looking at how pathetic I am. Pathetic, not vulnerable. Not vulnerable because I know you wouldn’t hurt me. My heart invites you in like an old friend and it offers tea and good conversation. that’s all we need, my dear.
Im melting into you.
that’s all we need, we are candle wax. that’s all we need my dear, our hearts and shoplifted kisses. The crimes you make me commit. The things I would say if I my voice flew back to me. But as for my breath, well I don’t need it. We’ll just lie still in the meadow and some lovesick girl will confuse us with wildflowers she is picking for a boy with hands like piano keys that make her sing.
“ he loves me , he loves me not, he loves me!”
we will be a testimony to love . To peace. To each other. We will be candles ready to be lit. melting even more with each passionate flame swirling around an we will melt .
Like snow.
Only to reveal soft spring round underneath. I just need to catch my breath before I take your hand. I wouldn’t want to faint before I see our dreams come true.
