Laugh, Father laugh, should you think of me
I have made such a mess of my life
Surround me with angels - set me free
I’m so weary of walking this knife
I have made such a mess of my life
Seeking love and material things
I’m so weary of walking this knife
I’ve grown leery and shun wedding rings
Seeking love and material things
I’ve forsaken three wives and a son
I’ve grown leery and shun wedding rings
And the real misery’s barely begun
I’ve forsaken three wives and a son
I have buried myself deep in debt
And the real misery’s barely begun
The other shoe hasn’t dropped yet
I have buried myself deep in debt
All my lenders are standing in line
The other shoe hasn’t dropped yet
It’s quite simply a matter of time
All my lenders are standing in line
See the humor? The noose is up tight
It’s quite simply a matter of time
When the Reaper comes, he’ll set things right
See the humor? The noose is up tight
Surround me with angels - set me free
When the Reaper comes, he’ll set things right
Laugh, Father laugh, should you think of me

Very unique poem, I believe God has a sense of humor , but I seriously doubt he is laughing at you.I do hope it means you can laugh at your own mistakes however, and I am still waiting for the happy poem, surely you must have one Lyle. The ability to laugh at ones own self forces others to laugh with them and not at them. Great irony in this poem though. A high score from me as usual.
