Ghazalmania
by Lyle Berry (Age: 61)
copyright 06-28-2003

Age Rating: 18 to 127

  Ghazalmania

Paranoia renders my gibbering to whimpers
beneath the orange eyes of the black-crowned night heron.

Witches frolic in the Faerie Circle of my mind,
demons croon; Ewe joins them in their chorus.

Hades’ flames illuminate my bleak jungles,
revealing the depth and breadth of the lunatic’s landscape.

Remembering ghazals and how we were connected,
I am the flower child of the Cold War who never found détente.

When Big Nurse jerks the tubes and unplugs the machines,
I’ll have nothing to fear, save that blushing date with Old Nick.

A combination of Gestalt and psychedelic images set in the most bizarre moods! Phew, let me catch my breath. I had to read it several times. It assaulted my physche. Marvelous explosion of images and emotion. Nice job Lyle!
Regards,
Gregory

Lyle: sounds like a tormented old soul who's been on one too many bad trips!!! - Got any pills left for me? LoL! Very graphic and discriptive poem of paranoi at its finest (or worst!). Rate it 10 in originality.
Moses
