The One Child Lost...
by Erick Phillips
copyright 08-13-2001

Age Rating: 18 to 127

Suppose a scenario such as this,
the likes of which levies no toast,
for the fact of this matter suddenly is
you’re the person you’ve hated the most.

Now the reason for this is kept in the dark
while your former self’s yet still at hand,
Though your driven to know how to find your first mark,
its location you’ll not understand;
for it's since ran away to the peace it had found,
for their hand you’ve forgotten to hold.
Leaving nothing to follow but the greed in your sound,
so alone, its your soul you have sold.

So was it your pick to move free of his voice,
leaving you older and blind?
Don’t you forget it was wholly your choice.
Your inner-child’s what you’ve left behind.

Your thoughts go round and round but in the end they do resound.... and remind me of Puff The Magic Dragon. *smile*
