Midnight water's serenade,
Innocent child's silent ballet,
Timid girl's soul parade,
Curtains open to swimming pool's sway.
She raises wet arms, above rippling waters,
Starting the dance with an exotic flounce,
Prancing away life's anguish with totters,
Quietly singing as her spirits mount.
Bravely she dares another step forward,
Piercing the creased liquid's brink,
Spinning her heart out as her hand's dive toward,
Acting with grace, not stopping to think.
Joyful and true she cups now numb palms,
To forge a flesh basin in which to sip,
But instead of drinking trough water's calm,
She launches her arm's and loosens her grip.
Midnight water's serenade,
Innocent child's silent ballet,
Timid girl's soul parade,
Curtains close to end of girl's stay.
