I went to walk the path on a sunny day
I smelled the brew of coffee it
started out my day

Herd a the loving call
of the doves as
they set about in play

Watched a couple of squirrels
tag was the game today
thought I saw a wild rose
winning against all odds

saw the wind blow a way a cloud
I saw the face of God
whistle upon lips
let the world just walk on by

Held a child in my arms
it was the softest sigh
in the distance

I heard a train warn
it was crossing Jordan
felt the blast
of the great lakes fog horn

slipped behind the wheel
all window rolled down
unleashed 440 horses
on the streets
of this little town

Fear and love bulge up
inside of me
I can feel the sun

I really do not need to see
the bum down on the corner
the aristocrat upon the hill
both are with child
both they took the pill

A soldier cries out in pain
a child hit by a car
the last of dreamers
dreaming on a star

Who told you that life was fair
I just realized some times
no one cares

slipping in and out
of this world of dreams
life is seldom
what it seems

pick me a flower
lay it on the ground
it brings a tear
sometimes a frown

The grave is just a breath away
I cheat death once again today
where are you now

All your pleasant thought
I know full well
just a half of step from hell
souls have been bought

Definately one of those poems you can read several times and understand a bit more with each reading. I worded that badly, but I think you know what I mean...lol
