She Gave To Him Her Rose
by Moses Hochstetler (Age: 60)
copyright 07-06-2003

Age Rating: 10 to 127

She gave to him her rose
Her am'rous rose
Her bright and beautiful
Red red rose
As soft as April's mist
And silky as the dew

He took it with ne'er a thank-you
No kind-hearted words
No comforting songs
Nor sweet refrains
No hope for her tomorrow

He took her beautiful
Beautiful rose
Her flaming rose
With no remorse
And coarsely boasted
To all his silly friends

She lives in constant sorrow
Regretting the moment
She gave to him her rose
Petals now dull and faded
Blowing in the wind

She gave to him her rose
Flamboyant rose
Silky soft and dewy
Bright and beautiful
Red enamored rose
Gone with the wind

i don't know why but this this poem seems to be a sad heart touching poem to me.

With only one rose, you're showing true devotion. A bouquet would have been too much, trying to buy the love of that individual. He didn't realize the true meaning of that single rose...a gift of true love. Nice symbolism too.
Warm regards,
Gregory
