Hi my name is Toni. In 1999 the most errible thing happened that left me crying for days. My dog died. I would Like to tell you about that day that made me cry for so long.
It happened on December 28, 1999. We were outside raking leaves and my dog was out there with us. Our dogs name was Foxy. She was out there with us she was barking and chasing the rakes. Then this loud truck came by our house. Foxy began to chase after it. I did not worry though she always stayed in the ditch.
This time she did not stay in the ditch she was right behind the truck and she hit her self in the head. There was this big Yelp. When I heard the yelp I looked up and saw my dog rolling in the road. I imidattley ran up to where she had been hit. My brother went to go and get my mom. When I got up there I saw she had been hit very badly. I started crying.
The person that she had hitten came back. He was on the phone. I think he was on the phone with a vet. He picked up my dog by the legs and put her in the ditch. Then he checked to see if she was alive. Then he said to the person on the phone that she was dead. I started even crying more. My mom then showed up in her car. They took Foxy and layed her on a towl in my moms car. Then he said he was sorry. I got in the car and she took us home. Once at home my sister got dressed. We took the dog into the back yard. My brother dug a hole. I tried to help but I was crying that I just could not help. I went inside and got some of her favorite treats and buried them with her. I also got a plastic rose that I laid on top of the grave.
I cried for days. I did not believe that she had died. When we moved I went back to the grave and took the rose. The rose reminded me of my dog. I still have the rose today. Some times at night I would look over to the place where she died and I believe I would see her alive. But when I look back she is gone. I have another dog now named Roxy. She almost died to. She was hit by a car but she did not get hurt at all. I am happy she did not die. I cryed every time I think about her or when I am even writing about her like now I am crying.
The End
In loving memory of Foxy that died on December 28, 1999

:'( I miss Foxy!!!! I didn't know that the one that hit her came back though? maybe that was Rosie...But it's a good story and you didn't leave anything out. You're good at leaving a picture in my mind when I read your story's...I don't know if that's because I was there or because of your writing...maybe both. Ha ha but no it was good. You spelled terrible wrong in the first sentence. bye bye!
Your sis,
~Cassie~

For how long was she alive?
Awww I feel so sorry for you. Many of my pets have died and one of them made me cry for sooo long. her name was Baby and she was such a sweet and lovable dog. She even had puppies, but we gave them away. I wish we hadn't. We still don't know what she died from though. I'm soo sorry for Roxy.(sniff!)
i know what its like to have dog die. i had a dog for 13 years and although she died from old age it was still heartbreaking as i had had her since she was 7 weeks old.
it was a good write and read. well done!!!!
