As I sit here in this uncomfortable chair,
Looking at this blank computer screen,
Twisting and turning trying to get comfortable,
I think of you.
For me, this is a daily task that I fulfil.
For you I will be uncomfortable and risk going blind.
Your beauty goes beyond your appearance.
It shines from within you with all it's might.
Your eyes are windows into your soul,
Your wonderful, pure soul.
It reminds me of everything wonderful, good and peaceful on this earth.
It makes me want to sing and shout out, "You are mine."
When you are gone, I can't help but cry.
I can't help but think, "Will I ever see you again?"
The answer comes when you return,
My answer is clearly upon your relieved eyes.
When I'm with you, I thank God that I found you.
I pray every night you won't leave me.
Heaven is where I am when you kiss me.
Beyond heaven is where you take me every day.
So, here I am. In this uncomfortable chair,
Looking at this not so blank computer screen,
Twisting and turning trying to get comfortable,
And I think of you.
A/N: I wrote this as a request to my old friend, Kevin and his girlfriend Jackie.
Update: I haven't spoken to Kevin in years, but the poem is still here!
