You and Me

  You and Me
Picture Credits:

As together we renew our wedding vows,
And remind ourselves of promises we made;
Let's rejoice in the time still remaining
And strengthen ties so love will never fade.

Still the honeysuckles grow in the valley
And the flowers bloom in spring for all to see;
The sun is shining brightly o'er the meadows
As the birds sing their songs for you and me.

The storm may gather darkness in the morning,
And the clouds before the tempest swiftly blow;
We will look for our life's silver lining
And find joy in the rainbow's crescent glow.

The noontime heat makes toil not so easy,
But fresh waters flowing through the lea
Cools the brow and makes life more bearable,
And the trees give their shade for you and me.

As we walk hand in hand down the pathway,
And the flowers of sweet youth begin to wane;
Though our dreams may not all find fruition,
The moments spent together is our gain.

Somewhere the awesome mountains reach for heaven,
Somewhere the white-capped waves crown the tossing sea;
But we will find our own sweet restful haven
Right here at home together, you and me.

The sun is sinking slowly in the west
And paints the cloud-filled sky a thousand hues.
No doubt this is the best time of day,
And so 'twill be for us is we so choose.

Let us harvest all our fruits as they ripen,
Let us gather in the grain before the cold;
Let us seek the well-bing of each other
And strengthen ties so love can shine as gold.

Love is grand and when you finally find the right one life becomes a poem and you live the verses. This is very nice and another winner! Thanks, Anthony

Warm emotion with a sensuous beauty as well as picturesque. A wonderful poem...I think I'll renew my vows...I've been married almost twenty-five years! Hey, we must be doing something right!
Best wishes,
Gregory
