Night Eyes
by Heather Scott (Age: 22)
copyright 11-03-2003

Age Rating: 4 to 127

I stare upward
Into the unknown.
Into eternity.
Into the blackest of blacks,
Behind millions of tiny
Flecks of light.
They're what keep me warm.
I'm sure that if I
Don't watch myself,
I'll drown in there.
I wouldn't mind at all.
This is why nighttime
Is my favorite time of day,
When we're together
With your eyes of the blackest black,
And the warmest light.
Sure, the sky is nice and all,
But it's got nothing on you.

I have to agree with Doug, I didn't really get it. Maybe, you should read it over and give it a few edits.

I am not sure what is happening. All I get out of it is that this person can't wait to see someone in the darkness?

I still love the way this ends more than anything. Great job, Heather. Such a sweet love poem!
