A blackberry-
Ripened in the heaviness of a sultry day.
Picked; lavish and bursting.
Sweet and sharp on my tongue.

Warmed by the August sun.
Coaxed by the season,
To bring forth its sugar.

One last summer pleasure.
A plentiful yet delicate treat for the soul.
