You Can't Force Love
by Mary -BrytEyz- Ball (Age: 38)
copyright 08-16-2001

Age Rating: 4 to 127

Inspired by BeJay's "We Had So Far To Go"
He used to write at WrittenByMe.com and I'm trying to get him to come here. He loves Billy Jone's stuff, so that just might pull him in since Billy is one of us!

Sometimes we just can't see
what's right before our eyes,
And can't help but believe
our own delusional lies.

Still knowing that won't stay
a forlorn lover's sighs,
Or help success to stray
To any of many tries.

You can't force love to clear
a heart that isn't ready
Or even calm someone's fears
That aren't anchored or steady

Though it may seem like the end
Of your tiny little world;
Just remember my friend,
You're not entirely unfurled.

Hmm... good idea, Leigh! And yes, I love that new title of mine. LOL. I'll make the suggested changes as soon as I can. For some reason, my member dues aren't showing as paid when I paid them so I have to wait for the glitch to get fixed before I can amend anything. :-) Thank you again for the suggestions!

Hello BrytEyz of the CC! (I know how you like the sound of that. :))Very nice! It's short as Anthony said, but I still enjoyed reading it. It's very true though, love is an emotion that comes and goes whenever it wants. And leaves us to do damage control. It's a painful lesson to learn how fast it seems to go, when we don't want it to. It'd be better if you capitalized the first word of each line, but this was a good meaningful poem. Good work, keep writing!

This is short and cute. It has a good message too! Thanks, Anthony

A fine poem Mary, I love the first verse as it is very thought provoking.

I love the line "you can't force love to clear, a heart that isn't ready." That is very true. Well done Mary!
