  She Was Mine

It's so dark tonight,
I can't see a thing,
But I can hear you breathing,
What emotions will this bring?

Looking into your eyes,
I see the beauty beneath the mask,
The pain and hurt you hid behind,
To be with you is all I ask,

Pull me close
Hold on to me,
Drive away the sorrow,
Set my body free,

Come away with me,
My minds a blurr without you by my side,
Bring the love we've always shared,
Don't hold back your tempted mind,

Release yourself into my hands,
I'll always bring you eternity,
We'll fly away into ecstacy,
And dance alone, just you and me,

Pull me close,
Hold on to me,
Drive away the darkness,
Set my soul free,

Take me away,
With you by my side,
We'll be lost inside forever,
Just let go of your pride,

Your pale skin glows,
Your eyes seem to shine,
And I will always know,
That once she was mine,

You pulled me close,
You held on to me,
You drove away everything,
You set me free.

I come back to rate, and once more, this poem has left me feeling so sad and relating so fully. Only your poetry really seems to evoke this type of response from me on such a constant basis. I can't wait to read anything new you have. Great job, Mandi.

Good poem, I am glad you got it to the front.
