Why
When I saw her last she was fairer than fair
One hundred eighteen pounds, not a smidgon more
The redest of lips and raven black hair
She could cause a man to feel at heaven's door
One hundred men vied for her attention
Each has their own story to tell
That begins with an entrance of their own invention
Each as she left them became a mere shell
What trials has she endured
What burdens has she bore
What awesome circumstance
brought her to death's door
Too much food, too much drink
A thousand other sins brought her to the brink
There's more to this story of a lady fair
That brought her to that condition lying there
One man was different as they came in their turn
She waited in vain for his promised return
She stood close to the window they say
Full of drugs and abuses at the close of day
Such a sad way for her life to end
There's a lot more of her now than the lady she's been
