Health Quest
by Dawn Staple (Age: 76)
copyright 08-16-2003

Age Rating: 13 to 127

I travelled on a journey far
Sort of Health Safari, following a star
Two books I'd read that gave me hope
Was I crazy ~ a fool, or a dope?

125 miles to Royal Tunbridge Wells
Various parts of me, all needing 'spells'
Many years without ease or hope of a cure
Cleared metabolic pathways the unusual lure

The consultant enquired about all parts of me
Not just my weakness ~ also emotionally
Her top priority wasn't my weight
"Let's get the body well, it's in a bad state!"

Your lymphatic system is really quite clogged
Liver's only just functioning ~ seems rather 'dogged'
Hydrochloric acid level in stomach is rather too low
Zinc and betacarotene deficiency ~ all's sluggish and slow"

I now have so much Aloe Vera Gel
With faith, hope and cost (!) I'm sure to get well
Vitamined, amino'd, mineraled, enzymed and flax-oiled
Surely worth it to ease my tense muscles uncoiled

Body ecology is the name of the game
Will the day ever dawn when I'm no longer lame?
When the silt is removed, a river runs clear
With my system de-gunged, will I also run free-er?
