Victorious, Strong, Prosperous, Risen, Blessed
I stand in You, My God, My Lord, My Conquering King
You burst forth from the grave and death and Hell
Purchasing my freedom with the flowing of your blood
God Almighty choosing mankind over His own glory
Making me worthy to stand as bride before you forever
So I join the eternal chorus that worships at your throne

I decided to feature this piece because I knew I needed to hear the Truth in it again... and I figured God might use it for someone else, too. If not... It reminded me who I am.
Interestingly, Jack hit on a truth about this poem. It is a confession. At the time I wrote it, I was in deep despair; I had been suffering with this headache for over 4 months, I was in a lot of pain, and I was very weary. I was feeling very defeated and broken. I remember calling my Mom on the phone and just sobbing, needing her to just comfort me, even if we couldn't be near to one another at the time. I got up from the bed after the conversation, came out to the computer, and decided that this headache was not my identity. This pain was not who I was, and I was not going to let it claim my life. I would not let pain or heartbreak or depression steal the central joy and peace that my salvation had given me. I sat down in determination to confess victory over my circumstances...and this is the poem that arose.
I will treasure this piece forever because of the central truth that resonates at its core, and the circumstances that lead to its creation. It doesn't matter what is going on in my life. I have Victory. I have Victory because of my savior, Jesus, the Christ.
