Author.
Me?
No.
not jenny.

What’s the most annoying
thing you can think about?
A shrill voice echoing
through my brain.

Yours to be more specific.
Do you like to be exact?
My change is not even
and my hair uncombed.

Please don’t hassle me,
I like it wind blown.
I like my words scattered
in the soft summer breeze.

I like the trees
helping me think.
Think about it.
Think about us.

Want to be you?
didn’t think so.
Wait, they really
said that?

Shoot, now I’m all confused.
My thoughts escape easier
when my hair is strait.
This sun bleached auburn
cage is not enough

to keep my in my head.
I escape as well.

So dad, hand me that comb.
Give me my freedom,
but I warn you
I change when
my hair is strait
and
clean.

I need
to escape
the thoughts
and voices
that ricochet

in the red head
of mine.
For now im temporarily
blonde.
Temporarily free

until the summer sun gives me the cold shoulder winter sky and I’m encaged in clothes
and hygiene.
