Adolescent Anger
by Christopher Doss (Age: 21)
copyright 08-26-2003

Age Rating: 13 to 127

Radiant dreams of youth are torn,
the vibrant colors leaking tears
that fall upon the aching soul
Stains we hope will fade with time

Winds of change rage unforgiving
Head bowed, we face the storm
Ever fighting to control our destiny
A battle lost before it ever began

Hope fades in the shadow of dreams
Misty barriers protecting our hearts
from the future that was to be ours
Love is displaced by deep suspicion

We cling stubbornly to our torment
Forever seeking to find the ending
of a life with no apparent beginning
What reward do we expect to receive?

Teens have so much anger this is true. They want everything now and when they don't get it they get upset. If they would only slow down a little ...things would come easier. Thanks, Anthony

Christopher you have already been rewarded with the power of your writing which will touch many hearts throughout time. I am sure you will be very succesful in life and make it through the rough times because you have a strong heart that will never quit striving for a better life and a better world for all.

Christopher this poem truly touched me. The emotion behind this poem is so strong and well captured within your words. I am a parent of teenagers and your poem helps me to undertsand
their feelings. Thank-you for sharing your poem.
A perfect score form me on this one.
