I'm crawling towards sleep, in no real hurry to meet him. I don't like the company he has been keeping lately, nor they me. Someplace in my mind home movies of my life are being shown; I sit eating popcorn pretending I don't know the actors.
I wonder how the movie ends?
Most of the faces I see are familiar, I know the names attached to them; complete strangers one and all. Every person is a mystery novel, one that takes a lifetime to read. It wouldn't take so long except the plot changes many times over the years.
I wonder what the final chapter will be?
I know exactly where life is taking me; it's unfortunate I have no control over it. My eyes are glued to my destination with good intention. Why is it I keep running but it gets no closer? I suppose all those voices keep giving me the wrong directions.
I wonder, will I ever listen to my own voice?

Christopher, it seems like your poem is a slice of everybody's life. All I know for sure is that your take it one day at a time and see where it leads. Great poem.

all i can say in advice to this is to get back in your body and head and take over your life again. this is a great write and a great way to get out whats dwelling inside. keep writing it helps!
Watch as it pushes you forward, as the approaching future rises, dodge from what you see and find something else than what you have, maybe you will find what you want? And if the voice ever gets too quiet, scream and it will hear you, and everyone else might finally as well?
Keep watching the movies. It will help you be prepared for the future.
