*Small smile* All right, everyone...Dunno if I'll really use these as my vows...but I need your help anyways. Do you think these will work? My fiancee and I are finally taking the step at a commitment ceremony in october. I didn't want to use the traditional vows...tell me what you think.

I stand in awe before your face,
How did we make it to this place?
Standing before you, our hands bound,
By ropes and vows, and soft, soft sounds.
The priest does ask for me to say,
All I swear to you this day,
But nothing comes from in my mouth,
The words once planned all gone south.
Instead I squeeze your hands in mine,
And feel the slow, soft stream of time,
For no words are needed, or could touch,
Upon all I swear and feel so much.
And if I tried we’d never leave,
From the alter of white grown leafs,
Searching for words to truly explain,
The love for you, this delectable pain.
And I could say something just so trite,
But then I know it wouldn’t be right,
“To have to hold, through sickness and health”
“The care, love, through poorness and wealth.”
For don’t all couples say those vows?
Before they let each other down?
And that’s the thing I could never do.
Say such words and abandon you,
So instead I search for something real,
Something strong and sturdy like steel.
A way to say this truth to you,
But nothing fits or seems to do.
So all I say is this, my love,
Not even satan or god above,
Could ever convince me that we were wrong,
Could ever convince me that for oh-so-long,
I’ve waisted my life, because it’s not true,
For every moment I’ve spent standing by you,
Is the true heaven I’ve been searching for,
A home, a place, a life, and more.
And please believe me as I say,
With these vows I make this day,
That my love for you will never die,
And I will never make you cry.
And till the end of time I swear,
That forever I will be right there,
That from your arms, your love, your home,
I will never need to roam.
And until eternity and beyond,
From your love I shan’t abscond,
For you are mine, and I am yours,
Never could I ask for more,
My love, my life, my home, my prayer,
My wife, my hope, my need, my anchor,
My marriage to you upon this day,
Will end with what I have to say,
The only words I know as true,
And those three words are;
I love you.

Tis very pretty, I always find it ironic that a beautiful writer's whole life consists of words but when the words apply to something as meaningful as love, even the most articulet of us can't find the 3 most important. Good Job! (Loooooooove it!)
