Billy sits inside his house,
Afraid to talk, afraid to play,
Afraid of this and every day;
Afraid of what his dad might do
If he should dare to disobey.
Billy wishes he were good;
He tries to be, but he is bad.
He's always and forever bad.
Why else would he be so despised
And bruised and battered by his dad?
