sweet and sour stir fry

Right let's see first we cut the chicken into smallish pieces and put them on to fry and add some cooking oil to stop the chicken from sticking.
(make sure you remember to stir every once in a while or it will burn)

Now we're going to make the sauce while we wait for the chicken and for that you need:

1 small tin of pinapple (in natural juice)
1 tablespoon cornflour
1 tablespoon of brown sugar
2 tablespoons of soy sauce
2 tablespoons of tomato ketchup
3 tablespoons of white wine vinegar
1/4pint water/pineapple juice (orange juice will work of course if there is no pineapple

Right so you put the cornflour into a pint jug and slowly add the juice/water and mix to paste then add all the other liquid ingrediants. Over fairly high heat stir constantly untill thickened - have some hot water at hand to thin down should it get to thick. Add pineapple pieces. to warm through.

Once thats done, cut up whatever veggies you feel like having, pepper, onions, stuff like that and add the veg to the chicken cooking and give it a good stir then add your sweet and sour sauce to it (make sure it tastes okay first)
and let it all heat through together.

Then afterwards eat it...do some rice aswell ;)

good luck and i hope you have a nice stir fry!

I do like stir fry and this sounds delicious, I must give it a try.
My meals are getting very boring, trouble is I live alone so I only have myself to blame.

ooh This sounds so good I wish I have all the stuff here already. I would make it tonight. I will have to come back to this one soon.

Sounds yummy. Will try this out the next time I feel like cooking!Which is the best oil to use in a stir fry?
What I like about this recipe is it eliminates the batter and deep fry of 'sweet and sour chicken' and am sure it would taste as good.

Ooh... I just love sweet and sour! My mother used to work at an Oriental restaurant and she's got some YUMMY recipes!

I'll have to remember how to make egg drop soup and share that. It's amazingly simple!

Thanks for suggesting this!
