Life is a Paradigm, Death the Only Cure
by Debra Rose (Age: 21)
copyright 12-04-2003

Age Rating: 13 to 127

aka--"Death the Only Cure"
Paradigm--pronounced Pair-a-dime.

It occured to me this morning that life is a paradigm,
A series of motions, forgotten overtime.
That the earth will fade and our gods will be forgotten,
And our memories will be picked just like the finest cotton.
That our children will be spirits, just another tool
As we cower and we beg, we sob and we pule.
But hopefully this paradigm will die overtime,
And upon mankinds nostrum shall we finally dine,
The poison the elixir, the pain for the pure,
For life is a paradigm, death the only cure.

I know I had this on the authors page, but I'm cycling through my old poems, especially the ones that have something wrong that I *just can't place*, so have fun with ripping it up.

Debra...thoughts on life and death always seem to put things into perspective. The last 2 lines truly captured the enigma of both. Good job.

Debra, your poem is fantastic; some people do believe that death is the only cure, but I believe that it's just another part of life's puzzle.
