My love is dust on a shelf,
because I think for myself.
In whose arms do I belong?
Did God make a man that strong?
Love is always hard to find,
with my independent mind.
In whose arms does it feel right?
Where is my perfect Knight?
My love collects on a shelf,
locked away inside myself.
Did God make a man that strong?
I have been waiting so long.
Cannot find where I belong.
I need a heart that is strong,
yet honest, sincere, and kind.
Will this love I ever find?
Did the Lord create a Knight,
that will fit these arms just right?
One who will not run in fear,
with the first signal of a tear.
One who does not fear my mind,
and knows I can't be defined.
Where does this woman belong?
Did God make a man that strong?
Will I always shed a tear,
for the one who is not here.
I don't wish to be confined,
that's not how I'm designed.
Will this heart ever belong?
Did God make a man that strong?
