Clink clink clink goes the coin.
The bet is on, the handle gets pulled.
No credits this time...
Clink clink clink, goes the second coin!
THE handle gets pulled once more, the little figures on the screen move,
Looks promising!
The music stops, it was close, but not this time.
The hours go by, and the bet continues.
Just one more coin, and the bet goes on.
It's a smooth drug that seems to bring hope to the soul.
Just one more coin, yes, one more coin, but, can you resist another?
Clink clink clink, goes the coin,
ding ding ding '''.
The screen marks 300 credits!
The bet must go on! Just one more coin!
Just one more coin?
The beast of greed hops excitably as the coin is placed in the slot!!!
Clink clink clink, sorry, but not this time.
Take your winning while you can!
Run Run, the beast of greed is stubborn and can deceive the wisest of men,
when allowed!!!

Ahhhh, gambling... it is a very hard habbit to break. It ruins so many lives, but what are we to do?

Good job,
Shannon

Yes gambling is an addictive thing. I win sometimes, but when added all together...they have come out way ahead. Anthony

I've never gambled in this way, tho it might have paid off more then the gambling with love I've done. (smile)

Oh gosh, were you hiding in the shadows as I played in Vegas? I'd say "just one more, I know I'll have a winner this time!" ~laughing~ My friend finally convinced me to hit "pay" every so often...and it helped me feel I was "winning." It was fun but I had my limits and when reached, was able (even though reluctantly) to walk away. Good poem.

"if you don't like to ;oose, don't gambble" well written poem...

I tried to comment a min ago but it stopped, hee hee. I liked this as it reminded me of a friend I had years ago. He was addicted to gambling on fruit machines. No matter how many times I tried to persuade him not to do it he just did it even more. I saw him again a few years later, he never had much luck in life. He had little money, no car, no job, he still had his friend the fruit machine though. Perhaps that is why he was happy?
I do not gamble myself, I like what I have.
