Jimmy went to pick
A toy at the store.
He chose a pogo stick
Out of all the toys galore.
Down the street he went,
Bouncing all the way.
“That little boy,” said Kent.
“Will get in trouble today.”
Into the park
Jimmy boinged on,
Hopping ‘till dark
Across the lawn.
His stomach grumbled
With longing for food,
Jimmy tumbled.
That set off his bad mood.
Stomping along,
Dragging his stick,
He knew he’d been wrong,
He demanded a new toy pick.
A gumball machine
Or candy to lick
Jimmy thought anything
Was better than that pogo stick.
