Anything
by Travis Bauer (Age: 21)
copyright 09-25-2003

Age Rating: 13 to 127

If there is anything
Anything I can say
Anything I can do
To change the way you feel about me
To change your hate towards me to love
That could make you care for me the way I care for you

If there is anything
Anything I can say
Anything I can do
To show how much I love you
To show I'll always be there for you
That could make you care for me the way I care for you

If there is anything
Anything I can say
Anything I can do
To stop you from breaking my heart
To stop you from leaving me out in the cold
That could make you care for me the way I care for you

If there is anything
Anything I can say
Anything I can do
To forget about you
To forget about the Hell you put me through
That could make you forget about me
The way I've learned to forget about you

I love the intensity and as well as the sing-song like effect.

To forget about you
To forget about the Hell you put me through ...
All I can say is "AMEN!" Move on and good riddance. And Jack Curson is so very right... they'll look back at what they had, and the infamous "what could have been" and really regret choices they've made because you ARE such a wonderful person. I hated that "advice" when I was a teen because LATER didn't help me NOW...but it is a sort of sweet victory later when it happens... and it will. (It's happened to me time and time and time again.) The good guy always wins... didn't you know that? *wink*

I really like the progression throughout this piece, going from the complete desire to right supposed wrongs to a quiet acceptance of the relationship's fate. Very well written Travis! Your writing just keeps on getting better and better!

This poem struck close to home, because I have felt it as well. This is an amazing poem, Travis. I wish there were boys around here like you.

the world needs more boys like you, men like you, lovers like you, dreamers like you... this poem is fantastic.

Travis, some time down the road you old love will look down the road and say.. I remember when... I shouldn't have let him go...
