My Heart Walks In Your Shoe
by Janet Owenby
copyright 09-23-2003

Age Rating: 7 to 127

I see that look in my lover's eyes,
and cry red teardrops with black skies.
My friend, I can sympathize,
your pain I recognize.

He turns and faces our bedroom wall,
when my footsteps approach the hall.
I'm never noticed at all,
and my crystal beads fall.

You dream of love, passionate and grand,
and this is not the love you planned.
You need someone's flaming hand;
friend, how well I understand.

Yes , my dear friend, I am there with you,
because my heart walks in your shoe.
These emotions your're going through,
have tattered my soul too.

Our hearts ache because of another,
and we're afraid we will smother.
Can't trust sister or brother!
Thank God, for each other!

This poem is dedicated to my best friend Candy Clontz.

Beautiful Janet, like the heart of the writer. Glad you are in the world - you make it a better place.

Very important to put yourself in someone else's shoes...thnaks for reminding us of something we all tend to forget. Very nice Janet.

...by the way reading the comments below... I wasn't aware you were leaving! A relief to learn you aren't going anywhere!
Warmest regards, as ever,
Gregory

Hi Janet,
I am glad you are not leaving. I do not know what I would do without you here.

Man, I'm glad you changed your mind. I have been gone a long time and would hate to come back and not see your name here. I never thought of using a dog catcher net...there is someone in the neighborhood I have had my eye on...hmmm...I wonder....

Ok, I am staying I can't leave my kids and break their hearts. Reggie hunted me down and used the dog catcher net and brought me back home. I can't abandon my kids.

I rate this with a zero, because you can't go!!!!!!! Eeeeeee.....I saw this and almost started crying! Janet...I'm going to miss you so much! why are you leaving???

And thank you so much for mentioning me in your work, but I would rather not have been mentioned at all if you were staying. Why are you leaving?

I'm going to miss you, Janet. You were such a good poet. Thank you for all that you've done here at PnP...I just wish you weren't leaving. I hope to still hear from you...

Forever,
Debra
