Sachi
by Betty Eskdale (Age: 63)
copyright 08-19-2001

Age Rating: 4 to 127

Sachi, a beautiful tabby with soft peach around her

eyes and charcoal eyeliner, has the softest paws that she'll

box your fingers with or will wrap around your hand so you

can help her do her daily ablutions. Her trust is absolute

that you won't let her fall while she is rolling around on

your lap.

The most acrobatic cat, she sits like a gopher and can

even wash in that position. Independant, she straddles a

chair arm with her front legs and lets her head hang down

over the end.

She hates to hear phone messages on the answering

machine and will come running to wrap her arms around your

calf and talk loudly so you won't listen to the messages.

A great retriever she can coax even non-cat lovers into

throwing her ball over the railing so she can run down into

the basement to fetch it, return and drop it at your feet.

She makes quite a production out of this and lots of noise

for such a small body.

Warm and loving, she extends her affection to the

neighbor who baby-sits her with lavish kisses and she is a

wonderful playmate to children who visit. She comes when she

is called, but if you tell her "no" she is quite sassy and

goes "yap, yap, yap" and then runs away down the basement

before you have a chance to chastise her again.

My husband was a dog man who managed to tolerate cats,

but Sachi won his heart with her strong personality and

clowning ways.

I remember how she used to talk back when you scolded her. Thanks for reminding me of the character that she truly was.

Sachi was a beautiful little cat. Even Les liked her. Sorry that she's gone now, but your love of animals shines through, and I think you described her to a tee!! Bunny
