Mother Nature
by Regina S.
copyright 09-30-2003

Age Rating: 1 to 127

The world is her playground,
the flowers, her pride.
The cool, gentle wind
is her elegant glide.

She gives stars their sparkle,
the moonlight it's shine.
She perfumes the forests
with a scent of fresh pine.

She tickles the oceans,
gives life to the sea.
A pure, kindred spirit,
so playful and free.

The snow is her blanket
to sleep on at night,
a most beautiful shade
of a pure, glistening white.

True, sometimes she's angry
and a little bit vile,
but the greatest of glaciers
melt at the sight of her smile!

She paints colorful rainbows
and the brightest blue skies,
she runs and she plays
among butterflies.

So whenever you're dazzled
by her beautiful art,
don't find it surprising
that the sun is her heart!

WOW! That was stunning! Stunningly beautiful! WOW! This is one of the greatest writes EVER!!! I'm a nature person myself, and I hunt around for nature poems, and this ranks top dog, as my English teacher would put it! I loved the rhymes and the wording! The admiration for Mother Nature herself is shining amongst these lines! GREAT job, Regina! There weren't even any grammar or spelling mistakes!

I know that you feel really strongly about Mother Nature, but this poem is so full of feeling! The rhymthm and description is great!
Great job.

Its a good thing that mother nature is hereto protect what is left of the forests, and rivers, and mountains and plains, and animals even when we are the cause of that not "occasional" anger but that "constant" anger. nice job regina.

Another well-crafted poem, Regina. September must be a good month to write, as I have seen a number of exceptional poems posted the past few weeks.
