Pandora

by Kattie Reinhart (Age: 25)

Age Rating: 10 +

A box is sitting in the middle of the room
Closed up to the world, for ages people have wondered
what lies in the box
People gossip that it is Pandora's box
No one is willing to open it
In fear that it is the demon
That made the world one big chaotic mess
Afraid it will magnify if the seal
Ever breaks off the box.

The pauper was born on the
Opposite side of the Earth
He always felt as though someone
Was calling him, so he walked down the road
That led him to Greece
So he could stand in front of a box.
A magnetic force drove him to open it
Inside the box was the first woman ever
The first and last one he ever loved.

Pandora and her lover lived a rich life
All chaos disappeared and peace
Flowed through the years to follow
Neither of the love birds ever aged
Nor did their children after they entered adulthood
The box had never disappeared and a prince
Entertained by the notion of finding love
Opened Pandora's box
A jealous rage swept through him
In a chaotic sweep causing him
To kill Pandora's husband
So he could have her to himself.

Pandora aged shortly after her life's death
She watched her lover die
Followed by her children vanishing
As she died, violence and lust
Sprang from the core of the Earth.
