Blame stained snow

by Debra Rose (Age: 26)
copyright 10-06-2003

Age Rating: 7 +

Were you trying to speak to me?
I can't hear you,
Over the sound of my own screams,
Trapped in an unconscious
Lobotomy;
Please, don't try and save me.

Apologies are all I seem to know,
Everything wrong was just my fault,
The blame that stains the glistening snow,
Of a pure white winter, shining where I met you.

Debra, your poem speaks volumes. Sometimes we're the only ones who can save ourselves from blame and shame.
