Faery Folk - Part IV - PUCK
by Gregory Christiano (Age: 61)
copyright 10-07-2003

Age Rating: 7 to 127

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Beware the tricksters...
Blameless though they be...
Be self-aware and alert...Or
You'll evoke their jealousy!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

PUCK

Robin redbreast plants an herb
Behind your ear, you see;
Be less important, your ego curb,
Will give insights delightfully!

Here comes a puck, the prankster bold,
Always in control, will be -
Goat's legs and horns, so I am told,
Beware his trickery!

He can change his shape to any form,
A sprite, a buck, or pookie,
To perform until the rise of morn,
Performing so flawlessly!

Amuse himself at your expense,
He'll take all revelry,
So don't fall prey, lets make some sense,
Of all this tomfoolery!

I love it.
Puck is my favotite shakespeare character.
Good job, it's well versed.
Your very good at this sort of poem.

this is such a capricious little poem, like a puck! I get the feeling it's peeking at me over a bush and winking.
except in the third stanza, I thought they were called pooka.

I give you a perfect score on this one, just like the rest of your series. I would love to keep a copy of all of this series of poems, if you do not mind just to show some of my friends who do not own computers.
