Walk
by Lonnie Kornoely
copyright 01-22-2006

Age Rating: 18 to 127

I walk in steps every day in my life.
I PRAY tonight that I walk closer to
God for the rest of my life. People
see me every day but they don’t know
my fight to walk from the darkness
into the light.

I used to walk as a gangster in the
hood but that was no good used to
get drunk, high, and get in fights.
Bullets fly as they do drive by’s
Innocent people die and many families
cry. I have seen a lot of things on
the street and am amazed today that
it wasn’t me. After time in jail for
a DUI is when God really opened my eyes.

I am an example of someone who has
changed their path and that God is
great in the way he plans. Years ago
I wouldn’t think I would be sharing
and praising but who I have become
from who I was is amazing. I'm glad
to grow up and see the way and
thank you God for helping my way.

Hey Lonnie... can you tell I'm doing some catching up today? :-)

I really love poems about doing the right thing and you seem to have a lot of them. Kudos to you! I hardly ever leave comments about syntax, etc. on your poetry, but I thought I would here simply because it would be a good place to start in improving your work. If you don't want to read it... don't. :-)

prey is spelled PRAY (prey is what a lion or hunter stalks to kill)

everyday should be two words

family's should be families

thank-you does not need to be hyphenated

It is great and wonderful when someone confesses openly the effect our Lord has had on them. Bravo. Keep up your Faith in a Hope of Love.
