Facing Reality, Reality's Facing

by Emily Garwood (Age: 25)
copyright 10-08-2003

Age Rating: 10 +

I have to face reality,
But i prefer to dream,
I have to learn what's real and what's not.
But i want to stay safe in my mind.

I learnt about reality,
But now i am not safe,
All I see is darkness,
What did they do to my mind?

Black as that mysterious cave,
But there are obstructions, and they're sharp,
I keep being wounded and scarred,
This is cutting my mind apart.

But I refuse to give in, I know there's light,
I remember my dreams,
So now reality has to face me!
I'm not going to give in now and I can't!

We must keep going for victory comes to those that do not give up. Good poem, Anthony

I love how it goes from being confused to standing up to what you fear. Great job, Emily.
