Poetic Dreams ( My second attempt at Moses' challenge on beginning and ending Rhymed Poetry}
by Janet Owenby
copyright 10-18-2003

Age Rating: 10 to 127

Red stains on white pages, their heart has bled
fed by distorted visions in their head.
Pen leaks out world's pain inflicted by men;
sin and sorrow fill empty spaces again.

Hand holds their mind's power to understand,
grand are words, not afraid to take a stand.
Engage in battles fought upon a page,
stage settings for their own internal rage.

Tonight, their pen will take another flight,
write about angels that dance in moonlight.
Skies envisioned within a poet's eyes,
cries out for freedom from their own demise.

Steal a lonley child's heart with words of will,
fill empty cores with liquid words that heal.
Erase tears from another's saddened face.
replace lonliness with their word's embrace

Insight from a poet's heart can form candles of light!
Write your poetic dreams on paper tonight!

The power of poetry is very evident here. Nicely done.
