A Wonderful Life
Chapter 2: A Missing Friend
by Buddy Ales (Age: 18)
copyright 10-16-2003

Age Rating: 13 to 127

{FADE IN}

We look in on our friends Makoto and Hollie sitting at a booth in a small coffee shop. The sign on the window reads “York Coffee Shop” Makoto takes a sip of his coffee as Hollie talks “Like I said, you never know when something like this is going to happen”
Makoto nods “I just can't believe it happened, our own friend, VANISHED” he leans back in the booth propping his foot on the part of the bench next to him.
Hollie looks to him “We don't know she vanished, just isn't here right now”
Makoto shrugs “What's the difference, she is gone and she needs to be found” He stops talking and hushes her as a man walks by, obviously listening, he is far enough to not here when he continues “We need to keep low for a while, we don't exactly want the public involved in this. It will take time and we have time, enough I hope.”
Hollie, meanwhile, has finished her cup of tea and is taking a bill from her purse, Makoto looks to her “I'll get it.. “ He takes out a billfold and lays a few dollars on the table.
They both stand and walk out the door into the cold windy weather where they find the red 1968 Mustang and get into it. Makoto takes his hat off and puts it behind the seat revealing a 2 inch long cut on his forehead. Hollie looks at it from her seat “How did this happen?”
Makoto shrugs “I think it might have happened when I rolled over and hit my head on the bedside table..”
Hollie looks to him rolling her eyes “Ok then..”
Makoto turns the key already in the ignition, starting the car. He gives it some rev and then pulls gently onto the street. They follow a road out that goes into the country and turn off onto another one, not talking until now. Hollie looks over to him “I just hope she is ok.. and we find her in time..”
Makoto nods “I do too..” he turns off onto a dirt road.
Hollie looks to him “Where are we going?!? Ive never been down this road, never even seen it..”
Makoto shrugs “ It turns off Hurt Road and goes to V.F.W. Road. Its a link between the two..”
Hollie nods “I see..”

{Fade In}

We soon find the two pulling into a dirt driveway and Hollie getting out “I'll see you later Makoto,” she says as she walks to the house.
Makoto smiles and nods to her since she stops to sit on the porch. He cranks the wheel around and does a tail-whip out of her driveway onto the road leaving some rubber marks on the road. She lets out a soft giggle at this action. His car can be heard down the road until it is about two blocks away.
{FADE OUT)

{FADE IN}

We find the red Mustang pulling into the small parking lot and Makoto getting out. He walks up the steps to his apartment grabbing his mail on the way. He enters the house and closes the door behind himself.

Another good chapter. Now, we have a case to solve. I already have a suspect. Well, no typos. One thing I didn't mention before, what do these two people have to do with each other? Boyfriend/ girlfriend or just friends? Well, talk to you later.
