Mom sits down and tells a story,
A story about me,
I don't recall the tale she told,
I claim I did not see,
The things she said I don't remember,
Was I there at all?
She tells of how he hurts me,
And why he never calls,
I dig deep in my memory,
There's just a void in that place,
I guess it was just a time,
My mind had to erase,
She explains the tragedy,
My heart begins to bleed,
Was this truly the man,
My soul seemed to need,
My dreams all scream rejection,
They knew something was wrong,
I'll never understand,
Why I didn't notice all along,
She comforts me and says he's gone,
My mind is all array,
He'll always be in my dreams,
Screaming and there to stay.
