You laughed as I stood crying,
laughed cruelly in my face.
I thought that you just might have cared,
but that never was the case.
You said you always loved me
and that I had to love you,
but then you just walked out the door
and I knew it wasn’t true.
I dreamt and hoped to leave you,
but you said I was too young,
too small, too weak, too stupid,
I despised your acid tongue.
I hated you with all my heart,
but there was nothing I could have done.
I wished that you would burn in hell,
that forever you’d be gone.
But until I find a way to beat you,
to let go of all my fears,
within the depths of my pure soul
I’ll hide all my painful tears.
