Till Death do us part

  Till Death do us part

when I saw you my eyes lit up with joy
This wasn't something coy

I couldn't believe what I was seeing
Yet I could see what I was believing

I thought God put an angel on earth for me
And my heart filled up with glee

I never got to see your face in those lights
Get to be with you in those fights

I never got to see you in a beautiful white dress
Never say sorry when I was in a mess

I never got to see you walk down the aisle to me
And be the man I wanted to be

I never got to say I do
And neither did you

I was with someone else and we were having a bad time
And you came in the nick of time

I said we were through
And that was all she could do

I was hoping to get my chance with you
To help you get through the stuff you don't want to

I want you to be my girl
So with you I could rule the world

I can't be with you because someone else walked in
When I think about it it should be a sin

How sad, it's just not right when the wrong person gets the girl. That was sensational though. Very good writing.

with all due respect to Chelsea's comment below, I think this poem to be mashed potatoes with lots of butter and gravy for the soul.
