Everything has its spirit. In the beginning there was consciousness and this consciousness needed to create matter - hence all life! Devas are the spirits that hold nature together. They know our universe has an idea, a thought behind it. The thought, then takes form, physical form. The Devas ensure this form is made manifest. Deva means god or divinity in Sanskrit. They belong to the Buddhist and Hindu traditions.

Vitalize my spirit, noble Deva
Like angels come and touch my soul!
In my mind is form and thought,
Bind me up with them and mold.

Each heartbeat you deflect
In symmetry and beauty frame.
Holding the fabric of life so dear,
Together in this world you reign!

Preside over our existence,
In wisdom, grace and charm,
Plant kingdoms, beasts and flowers,
Keep all of us from harm!

Enlighten our many senses,
With your ancient, timeless creed,
Keeper of our spirits - seek
To perpetuate our seed!
